1. Information we collect
We collect information you submit or provide to use Zawaj Match, including your name, email address, optional phone number, date of birth, general location, cultural or ethnic background, religion or denomination when provided, marital and family information, education, profession, languages, lifestyle information, preferences, biography, photos, communications, consent choices, and introduction history. We may also receive form-notification emails, attachments, payment and transaction status from payment providers, and basic device, cookie, and site-usage data.
2. How we use information
We use information to review applications, prevent misuse, assign profile IDs, create only the profile visibility you approve, operate search and introduction requests, contact you when you have permitted it, obtain mutual consent, provide support, process payments through service providers, maintain records, improve the service, and comply with law.
3. Profile visibility and identifying information
You choose one of three settings:
• Public searchable profile + photo: an approved non-sensitive profile and an approved photo may be displayed publicly.
• Anonymous searchable profile: an approved non-identifying profile may appear without your real photo, full name, contact details, or exact address; a neutral silhouette is used.
• Private matchmaking only: the profile and photo are not publicly displayed and may be reviewed only for private matchmaking.
Searchable profiles may include a profile ID, gender, age, general location, cultural background, religion or denomination, marital status, children, desire for children, education, profession, languages, smoking status, relocation preferences, and an approved biography. Full names, phone numbers, email addresses, exact addresses, and other private identifying information are not displayed in the directory.
4. Photo consent
A real photo is displayed only when you expressly select Public searchable profile + photo and Zawaj Match approves the photo. If permission is absent, unclear, or withdrawn, we do not display the real photo and may use a neutral silhouette or placeholder. We do not use a blurred real photo as a substitute for clear public-photo consent.
5. Introduction and contact-sharing consent
Consent to appear in search is separate from permission for Zawaj Match to contact you about an introduction request. Paying or requesting an introduction never reveals another person’s phone number or email. Zawaj Match contacts the other person first. Phone numbers or email addresses are exchanged only after both people separately consent to that specific introduction and to sharing their contact information.
6. Existing applicant records
Older applicants are not placed in the new public or anonymous searchable directory solely because they previously selected “Public,” “Incognito,” or similar wording. Their profile and real photo remain undisplayed until Zawaj Match obtains clear consent that matches the new visibility choices.
7. When information may be shared
We may share information with staff or contractors who need it to operate the service; with hosting, website, email, analytics, payment, security, or other service providers acting for us; when you direct or consent to a specific introduction; to investigate abuse or protect people and the service; or when required by law. Service providers receive only information reasonably needed for their role. We do not sell personal information or sell access to member contact information.
8. Retention and security
We retain information for as long as reasonably needed to operate the service, maintain consent and transaction records, resolve disputes, prevent abuse, and meet legal obligations. We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards, but no online system is completely secure. You may ask us to correct, access, delete, or change the visibility of your information. Some records may be retained when legally or operationally necessary.
9. Cookies and analytics
The site and its service providers may use cookies or similar technologies for essential functions, security, preferences, and performance measurement. Browser settings may let you limit cookies, although parts of the site may not work correctly.
10. Minors
Zawaj Match is for adults age 18 and older. We do not knowingly accept applications from children.
11. Your choices and requests
You may withdraw searchable-profile or photo consent, update information, change future communication choices, or request access, correction, or deletion by emailing zawajmatchmaker@gmail.com. Withdrawing consent does not affect processing already completed before the request, and removal from backups or legal records may take additional time.
12. Policy changes and contact
